05-06 March 2024, The MOIG Director visited MEKE Marine, Member based in Istanbul-Turkey. We were very pleased to meet, Mr. M. Kerem Kemerli, Chairman, Hakan Ciner, General Manager, Alkan Elkir, Oil Spill Response Director and Ms. Deniz Barlan, Executive assistant.

MOIG has beautiful memories in Turkey and maintained solid relationships with MEKE Marine who supported MOIG in many Regional Workshops and the training course OPRC IMO level 2 & 3 held over the past years.

The main objectives of these meetings were to discuss the first draft programme and the logistical aspects of the Regional Workshop on “Oil Spill Preparedness and Response: Commitment and Synergy”; to be held from 12 to 14 November 2024, in Istanbul-Turkey.

We were very delighted with the outcome of these meetings, MEKE Marine and MOIG agreed about all the discussed points and have committed to continue working together to ensure the success of this event. The MOIG Management Committee Members would like to thank MEKE Marine representatives for their warm welcome and hospitality as well as the high level of cooperation shown during this visit.
